Household Services (Home Management) Course Now at Xijen.

The course Household Services NCII has started last February 5, 2009.  This is a training program to immerse those interested to work as Domestic Helpers (DH) abroad.  An initial batch of eighteen scholars of the PGMA (President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Training for Work Program) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are currently on training.  The course includes training on food preparation, bed fixing, cleaning techniques, operation of modern household machines and communication skills. After the training, the scholars will undergo an assessment exam and certified as Household Services NC (National Certification) II holders.

This training program is seen as a preventive measure to possible abuses among Filipino overseas contract workers applying for domestic helper jobs.  In the past, physcial abuses have been commited to domestic workers because of causes like being unable to operate or use a washing machine or rice cooker.  Those interested to train under this program shall visit the TESDA office at the 5th floor Walter Clapp Centrum, Loc-ong, Bontoc, Mountain Province and take a qualifying exam.
